(Edp) when the perfume came into the athmosphere this morning it occured to me that this got to be one of the most sophisticated perfumes I have smelled, ever. although I knew what to expect and had this perfume since 2016, I held it in 'protective custody', inmidst a 'Collection' of 299. so it is almost full still. yet now I have it nearer to me. what immediately comes forward are the Aldehydes which are stunning. a Cleanliness which I am very enamored with, which I'd never thought I would say. yet then comes a more roomy floralcy in the form of Grasse-Rose and Turkish Rose. my favorite flower and especially the Chanel-Roses are beautiful. I am not so good in smelling fruit in perfume. theoretically I suspect that the Lychee and Raspberry lend the perfume a delicate sweetness in the beginning. but I am not theoretical, although I studied philosophy. I am emotional, fully. the Peach, a fruit that I mostly can smell, gives in an achingly softness. then the quintessence of the perfume, Orris, Violet, Powdery Notes, Leather (of the softest kind), plus Vanilla, Tonka & Benzoin give this Flighty and Airy perfume some groundedness. the Orris adds to the perfume this refined scent as when you, 'in the Wild', bring your nose to the Iris flower and sniff, and hereby hoover a petal inside a nostril. that is how the Iris vents her perfume. of course the Orris Rhizomes give more powderiness still to the overal perfume. this gets enhanced by that other frilly flower: Violet. perhaps that is even more delicate and somewhat more sylvestrial, arboretic. the subtlest Leather note is acquired and with Karl then still at the helm as Couturier, we smell the make-uppy inside of an expensive Chanel handbag. I loved this perfume from the start although it emphasized the fact that Chanel was a nazi. Misia also had all the wrong connections. we will not forget about that and will appreciate this perfume around that fact.

I still have the same bottle of 50mL Edp I bought in 2002. it is also a different bottle as above imagined, not only bc it is of a different volume but this bottle of 2002 is also esthetically pleasing and sufficient. they carried that type of bottle thèn. I thought to have already reviewed this perfume but I can not find any review of mine. it was an instant love and I always promptly buy and bought a full bottle. of course this is a full-blown amber perfume. yet it seems enriched still, and perhaps backed up by the fact it is composed by Geza Schoen, loads of Flowers (which I love), some Herbals (Juniper, Clary Sage) which lend its floralcy some complixity. and thus the necessary Amber notes: (composed) Amber, Tolu-Balm, Olibanum and Tonka Beans. I can testify that this is a splendid Amber perfume and the Roses, Orchid and the Orange Blossom and Lily of the Valley give some White Flower Clarity. a fabulous perfume and I am glad to now have reviewed it.

this is one of the best perfumes I ever smelled. I have always loved 'Obsession' so I guess I love amber-perfumes. what draw me in here was the word 'Opium'. yet this doesn't imply that this perfume derives from the perfume of Yves Saint Laurent (1971). it is a full blasted amberperfume. it also is really full, dense, thick. it lasts long. it made me aware of PROFVMVM ROMA. but the money isn't growing out of my back. it has a kind of heroin-y scent. (been there, done that.) those big Afghan 'poppies' really deliver. it is herewith a whole new take at 'amber perfume'. this heroin incidence is supported by the spices, used. my twinbrother thought heroin smelled like clove. I think that is in here too. they say Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather smells like cocaine. I loathe the cannabis smelling perfumes. maybe bc I am from Holland...... I love tobacco. I love boozy perfumes although I am a recovered alcoholic since jan, 5th., 1999. (one hell of a boozy perfume is Phuong Deng. Leather Up.) Franck Boclets 'Cocaine' seems quite flowerish. so you see. but this perfume blends it all: amber, opium and the silk route. because it is so thick, it is one of my absolute favorites. (and then I bought Pharmacia NN Annunciata's 'Ambra Nera'.)
