this is a heady cocktail of Flowers & Fruits at first, introduced meanwhile by a Wave of Aldehydes. Peach, Coconut & Bergamot take care for a Juicy and Fruity Opening. at once all the Flowers arrive. Honeysuckle, Hiacynth, Lilac, Ylang-Ylang, Orange Blossom, Tuberose, Narcissus, Carnation, Jasmine, Orris Root and Rose. I notice then a Tuberose seems to be taking lead, at other times a Narcissus, Jasmine or Rose. I even seem to detect Gardenia. it is clear this is a Rich Flower Bouquet with as well Classic as seemingly Mediterranean nuances. a quasi-Tropicality in Coconut, Ylang-Ylang, Lilac, Tuberose and Honeysuckle (if not all are Tropical Flowers specifically) land in the most Luxurious and Heart Touching perfume possible. it stays mysterious when the perfume from 1975, initially originated from Parfums Lagerfeld and concipiated by perfumer Betty Busse, went on to become a regular perfume from Chloé®. one can see on the bottle as to how it was produced. but when there are two entrees in a Perfume Database there are not much differences. Oakmoss, Amber, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Musk and Cedar ensure meanwhile that the perfume stems from other times, adding Chypre and Amber Elements to the Concoction. the Resinous, Mossy and Woody Basenotes draw the perfume into Heavy and Heady and Enticing Territory. it truly is a Bewitching perfume which hovers around you quite some time.

the name of this perfume immediately made me buy it. that, and the combination of Notes. with me that meant I was promptly in the Niche Perfumery in 2007. there were still the Mini Cognac Barrels out of which you could refill a Bottle if you desired so. and with the brusk and elegant flacon there was this wooden case with key. yet the most impressive was the perfume itself. it had an austere elegance and yes, it was that Dervishes Dance of Centifolia Rose and Oud. although I remember there were also perfumes with 'Oud-accord'. they had the Notes notated on sturdy cardboard leaflets on little wooden armatures. this was still in the beginning of 'By Kilian" and 'Maison Francis Kurkdjian'. with said perfume I was of course curious if the perfume lived up to its seedy name, and it did. Centifolia Rose, Oud, Castoreum. if the 'Prompt' read: "Beneath the pseudoinnocence displayed by Bergamot from Calabria, the seduction trap closes… courtesy of Centifolia Rose and woody heart notes. Papyrus, Vetiver from Haiti and Guaiacum Wood provide hints of mystery and elegance and then comes a grand finale of warm, sensuous Styrax and Castoreum." a Bergamot I can only smell in Creed and Citruses in Versace and Creed. Papyrus, unless it is the Grey Doom Mist of Cypriol-Oil, goes completely besides me. Vetiver, Guaiac, Styrax and Castoreum certainly plant a huge Impressum or Super Imposition in me. these along with Centifolia Rose, African Orange Flower, Violet & Vanilla for the Notes I pick up the best: the Flowers, along with the assured Woodiness (Sandelwood, Oud, Guaiac, Vetiver, [Papyrus]) and the resinous Castoreum, Styrax and Musk, or elsewise formulated, the Animalcy of Oud, Castoreum & Musk (which I neither can smell, although it astonishingly is not still clear if I can smell 'White Musk' after 50 years) gave this perfume a haunting and unique place in the 'By Kilian' Portfolio.

this perfume foremost poses as a Montale perfume of Rose with Saffron or even, Oud. I guess it is the Grasse Rose with Pink Pepper primarily responsible for this. it certainly has an elegance in that the Chic scent hovers immediately with its Leather & Patchouli, incessantly 'communicating' with the as delicate as also present refined Rose perfume. it is a sophisticated Chypre what is underscored with Leather, Chamomile, Cloves and Oakmoss. the Bargamot again is the Citrus which I can not always smell (my fault or, omission), yet with the Flowery heft of Chamomile, Indian Jasmine, Grasse Rose and Magnolia this is truly a full and dignified perfume with a hidden machination of Dark Forces which I mistook for Oud, Saffron, yet are incorporated by the Patchouli, Cloves, Leather, Pink Pepper and Oakmoss to give this Lady Like perfume the necessary Depth and Intrigue, exemplified foremost by the Nobility of its Floralcy.
