I had this perfume, bought in 2006. I still remember what happened in the (Luxe, Nichiste) Perfumery in Rotterdam. they had Miller-Harris perfumes on offer. I would not so easily veer toward these perfumes and Citron-Citron, Cœur de Fleur, Piment des Baies didn't make my heart race. yet this Smoky, Leathery, Oakmossy perfume deeply touched me. with the Inspiration of Jane Birkin (1946-2023) for herself and for her Liaison with Serge Gainsbourg it was enough to get this perfume the hell out of there into my House ! it stood aside L'Eau du Soir of Sisley, Knowing of Estée Lauder, La Prairie by La Prairie (1993) and for instance, Estées Aromatics Elixir (1971). (or also Miss Dior and Chanel No19.) she stood Her Place and radiated Forestrial Majesty, Earthy Dryness & Highness, Leathery Sophistication (Jane with her Hermès' 'Birkin'-Bag à Raison de 20,000 or 30,000 $ on Japanese Television, throwing the bag on the ground and dancing on it to show you need not to be too reverential with these Articles but just have to 'Supple' the Leather). her entrance in a see-through Crocheted Dress in the 1960s, Arriving with the always Gauloised Smokin' Serge Gainsbourg. she was as British as also French. she had concipiated this perfume with Lynn Harris. what a brilliant name without trying too hard. L'Air de Rien. this all toppled me over. and now yesterday, I discovered the perfume had turned. there was still 30% but a Sharp and Inknifingly Black Latex smell came above. I must have used it copiously and within a gradually accumulating 'Collection' of 700 (but I gave Half away during the period I had them bc these were then deemed 'too light'....) perfumes. I remember its Sophistication and Irreverentiality. "Je t'aime... moi non plus" and L"Histoire de Melody Nelson". both transgressive Music Art Pieces and as Daring and at the same time, Classic as this unforgettable perfume.
