The initial impression is a classic floral scent where the rose is accented by the poised elegance of violet. Iris, violet, and green notes tighten the composition, lending a dignified air to the rose, while aldehydes impart an elegant, beautiful radiance. True to the name "White Rose," the distinct powdery quality of iris and violet evokes the image of white face powder. The interplay between this white, powdery texture and the aldehydes creates a delicate elegance reminiscent of pure white light. It offers a subtle elegance that conveys a sense of cleanliness rather than opulence. The opening is elegant; as it settles, the powdery notes rise to the fore, blending closely with the skin to create a comforting, delicate, and refined fragrance.

Casmir Chopard. this is another perfume I knew well from 1992, I loved it for its soft orientalism and added chicness. as I bought it a couple of months ago, in 'sales', as it for years and years still is, at first I thought, when smelling the first sniff: oh reformulated beyond control. and yet this is the fourth or fifth perfume of which I can fully say: it still is exquisite and splendid as it also were in 1992. I think Chopard is a major Perfume House as well as a Haute Joaillerier. meaning that it has enough financial back-up to invest in the continuation of its perfumes. but I think it is a hell of a lot more complicated than that. this (new) perfume is such soft, yet present, fabulous perfume with Trôpicalismú, a lingering dream around your being. then I think Chopard can still have it in its portfolio. but some perfumes are going into a grey zone. and keep selling there for decades. I have a feeling Chopard gets 'Royalties'. but this secundary and tertiairy market does have its own laws. there are perfumes that thrive in these netherzones. that makes me wonder if it is still Chopard who produces them, or allotted the production to some other factories. because it is an intricate flacon, the 'mould' is made (which costs fortunes) and then once there was a factory which produced the 'Jus' and Glassworks and Packagings. we all have read here or there that you pay for the name, the secundary merchandizing, the Inbetween factors. the perfume itself, they write then, is not so expensive once the formula is settled. so it is complicated and I have here only tipped the top of the Iceberg. but whatever the case, another stunning perfume which mysteriously beheld (in my opinion) its initial mystique and makes the Fakhir Fiole as promising as it was, and still is.

The addition of these exquisite gourmand accents creates a modern, multi-dimensional depth—much like the bottle design, which is modeled after a liqueur decanter. Finally, notes of cedarwood, leather, and musk elegantly anchor the composition, resulting in a fragrance that feels both luxurious and refined. As it settles on the skin, it leaves a gentle, romantic lingering trail—a captivating quality that has surely made this scent a beloved series.

Every time I test perfumes from the Riviera collection, I think it’s my favourite line. But then I think the same about the Frivolity Collection and the White Collection as well.😅 But right now, in the heat of summer, I’m especially in love with the Riviera fragrances, and today I can’t let go of Riviera Drive and keep returning to it again and again. It smells like freedom and the calm found in nature. On first spray, I detect fresh lemon. But not the cold kind like in Blanc Polychrome – rather warm, like sun-warmed fragrant citrus peel. Then the scent becomes greener and softly balsamic, almost lulling. Notes of rosemary, marjoram, and cedar leaves create an impression of green herbs growing near the sea, swaying in the ocean breeze. The absinthe note is not very pronounced for me; it feels more like a continuation of herbal freshness and moisture. Later, the fragrance develops into a soft, warm woody base, creating a sense of grounding. Unfortunately, the perfume has very poor longevity: it settles on the skin quickly and becomes barely perceptible after about two hours. Given its rather high price, this is a significant drawback... Of course, one can try to find something similar, but personally I haven’t come across any alternatives. Overall, the fragrance is so beautiful, calming, and enchanting that I would love to have a full-size bottle in my collection.❤️
