Narciso Eau De Parfum Poudrée

I was gifted this perfume by my friend who knew that I have been curious about it for some time. Narciso Poudree hit all the right spots from the word "go". The opening is fresh and slightly spiced. I sensed white musk and coumarin and (although not listed) ozonic note. The blend of those is delicate, fresh and nuanced, preventing it from becoming linear or boring. The florals come next. They are "laid out" on the base of white musk and so not the usual selves. To me, jasmine came first, light and bright, neither cloying nor overpowering, but playful and delicate. Rose joined it somewhat later, adding her sweetness and lusciousness to the bouquet. I am amazed how such two (usually) domineering and "loud" flowers are "tamed" in this fragrance, and still retaining their undeniable charm and allure. Powderiness enters the picture and falls gently on the flowers creating an intimate and sensual composition. This is my favourite part, where all the notes come into perfect harmony. At some point rose really opens up and blends with jasmine creating an impression of the rare white gardenia, delicate and creamy, and somewhat shy. Interestingly enough the chemical composition does mention pelargonium graveolens flower oil - or rose geranium as well as cananga odorata oil, - being ylang-ylang. their presence explains my perception of white gardenia, I think. The flowers bloom more distinctly with every passing hour, becoming sweeter and creamier. Nevertheless the scent remains a delicate skin projection and does not "run away", but maintains its elegant and dignified restrain and presence. Needless to say, Narciso Poudree is exceptionally versatile fragrance for any time of the year and most settings, especially perfect/safe for office, business meetings and restaurants. It is most certainly a "must have" perfume. It has a good staying power, at least 6 or 7 hours and can be safely reapplied without imposing on the surroundings and people. The dry down is of the soft vanilla with cedar and musk, sweet and multifaceted, intimate and seductive. Utterly smitten with this perfume, I am deeply grateful to my friend for such a magnificent surprise—an exquisite gift that instantly became the undisputed star of this holiday season.

It’s a powdery, clean scent that makes me feel as though I’ve just had a bath and moisturised my skin with my favourite body lotion. It opens with soft floral notes, before musk comes to the forefront. The base is lightly woody and creamy perhaps because of the presence of coumarin. On my skin it lasts around six hours, with projection reaching about an arm’s length. It’s an ideal everyday fragrance and perfect work scent.
