From the top notes, the gourmand scents of almond and vanilla unfold with overwhelming volume and richness. Led by this rich sweetness, vibrant floral notes, including tuberose, layer upon it, instantly drawing you into an enchanting atmosphere. At the heart of this fragrance lies the accord of tuberose and coconut. While coconut is generally associated with a tropical, tanning oil-like image, this fragrance is different. The sensual, intense floral scent of tuberose blends with the creamy texture of coconut, creating a unique and alluring character. This is the core of Hypnotic Poison's addictive quality, the very essence of its "swamp" from which there is no escape once you step inside. Vanilla and almond add further depth, while sandalwood provides a calming, comforting embrace. There is no other perfume to which the word "enchanting" is more fitting. It possesses a unique presence, is sweet and a favorite of mine, and an indispensable fragrance.

Dusty vanilla, powdery sassafrass, and sandalwood, honeyed amaretto liqueur, and musky jasmine. Memories upon memories upon memories. I wore this fragrance exclusively in my mid-20s, it is a scent redolent of bad decisions and vicious, venomously abusive relationships but also of embracing incredible connections and embarking on marvelous discoveries. For me, Hypnotic Poison is a scent very much of a specific space and time in my life, and though can't place blame on the scent am happy to leave it in the past.

You may be surprised by reading my review on this.. So sorry in advance. Blind buy regret. Instead of creamy almond warmth, I get a rubber balloon / bubble-gum vibe that feels oddly synthetic on my skin. I adore the original Dior Poison EDP — dark, bold, unforgettable. But this version? A hard no. Definitely not a safe blind buy. I strongly recommend testing it on your skin and allowing it to develop before committing to a full bottle. It’s a fragrance that demands personal chemistry — and in my case, it simply didn’t deliver the magic I hoped for.
