While I don’t pick up much in the way of violet leaf, and the peach leans slightly overripe at first, this phase is fleeting and quickly settles. As it develops, the fragrance transitions gracefully into a floral heart. On my skin, rose takes center stage, accompanied by a soft, refined oud. The oud here is beautifully restrained, smooth, elegant, and far removed from barnyard. The dry down reveals a warm, woody amber base with a subtle touch of musk, adding depth and sophistication. Performance wise, this is truly beast mode, exceptional longevity and strong projection, so a light hand is definitely advised. I wouldn’t consider this a take on Erba Pura (which I personally don’t enjoy). Violet Sapphire feels far more polished and refined. If you can look past the eye watering price tag, this is a worthy investment, and, in my opinion, a superior alternative.
