Review of Izia La Nuit by aad de gids

this is a fabulous perfume as I also found its predessecor from 2017 fulfilling and special. I immediately bought the full bottle as I also had done with all the Sisley perfumes. yesterday it had been quite a while that I had worn it and I was surprised at HOW beautiful and ingenious this perfume was. of course you have the (special Polish) Roses, 'found in the garden of Countess Isabelle d’Ornano', and I feel they have a special 'fragrancy' aroma. and when something smells perfumey, Oh Irony Oh Vulgar Synesthesia Oh Satanic Shopperism Surfacial Pleasure, then it is mine. but of course here plays a lot more. without a kilo Oakmoss it would seem that that PUSH is gone but it isn't. we have Patchouli, Ambroxan, Labdanum, Black Currant and Cardamom to take care of that, a spikey, spicey piquantsy to the further deliciously heady floweriness of the perfume. Blackcurrant always works well with whichever Rose, and it has sufficient Pissey aroma to act like civet. it gives, paradoxically, the perfume Weight and Furor and Poise. then all those intoxicating Flowers. Roses, Magnolia, Freesia, Labdanum. this is a well concipiated perfume with precisely the right European NewYork-ness to Impose and Superimpose.
