Review of Patchouli N' Roses by aad de gids

with this perfume I had to "re-remember" how Patchouli smelled like. whereas I have known it consciously from in the 1960-70s, and actually sometimes (then) shall have bought the incidental microbottle, with my bad memory I can nebulously remember it had an earthy, somewhat dirty, hippie-ish smell, which I shall NEVER have disliked. I even remember from the Body Shop the round or Amphi Theater like 'perfume pyramids' with the clear scents (Musk !) on top and some truly dark, syrupy, inky fluids inbetween. I will always have chosen the (few) dark ones. bc I can not smell White Musk. it was a prelude to the Heavy Heady 1980s Hooker Perfumes and (since 2005) the Montale Rose-Ouds which I all loved. oddly it was Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Essence Edp which pulled the Patchouli back in. I suddenly thought 'Oh yes, that IS the Patchouli'. and now that I have spritzed some of this perfume on my arm, what initially bothered me seems to have been 'macerated out'. first there was a 'Fattiness' which contaminated the beautiful Roses, used. but now I conceive it as just in the right way blended Roses and Patchouli like in the aforementioned Chanel. a lovely perfume.
