Review of Aoud Queen Roses by aad de gids

while launched in 2007, I only recently bought a flacon of this perfume. I admit I am a Montale Fanatic. the perfume follows the usual route: it starts with a Blast of the Tornado between Rose & Oud. they enhance, counter, exceed and suffuse each other. what is added, makes the difference, whereas also different Roses (de Mai) could have been used. and if Oud Al Dehn (deep and rich), Assam- Oud (woody, earthy, smoky), Laotian Oud Palao (Barnyard, intense, confrontational), Vietnam Organic or Japanese Kyara (menthol minty incense green) are used, I have seen Assam, IndoChinese, Nepali Ouds specified in Montale. I have a feeling here Oud is used that has a woody, rich, slightly medicinal character. the first hour is entirely the dervishes dance of Rose and Oud. then the Leather comes in and Hibiscus seems to lend a berry-like scent. all to make the perfume more complex. the Patchouli has a more Fixative and general mechanics. all in all this is a typical Montale Perfume with which I feel very lucky and which' flacon glamorizes my shelf.
