"Un Oud très ancien associé au magnifique Ambre d’Orient pour un duo rendu pétillant grâce au Ciste des Indes et à 50 autres composants. Le Aoud féminin par excellence, raffiné et sensuel." (review 2017) this description as within the site of 'Montale" of another perfume as "Aoud Purple Rose" and the dozen I've read just now may serve as a reminder that Montale never was fake, and I've seen him use the terms also of "a note of" meaning that this then, wasn't the ingredient in full force, volume, thickness yet as contribution indispensable. I've never had 'a Montale' dissatisfying. in a Facebook page of Roja Dove fans I saw what is happening. they claim with these ultrahigh prized 'parfum extraits' to be able to have comparative fragrance competitions and enjoy a little 'Montale-bashing'. I posted a contrary comment saying Montale wasn't AT ALL 'trash', on the contrary. a lady said the 'synthetic notes' gave her headache and if I remember correctly sinoidal problems. with me it is the other way round. having REAL chronic sinoidal problems from off 1984 the highly concentrated Montale perfumes blast open my sinuses with full force. and I made a fine collection because if you can still smell the perfume 12, 24++ hours post quem, then there's really good ingredients in it. and as Pierre Montale states, in the flacon (and particularly in the aluminium, an idea copied by the hautain Roja Dove for samples and whatever the fuck he calls these billionaire prized creations), the maceration goes on. as I have and return to Attar, Intense Tiaré, Intense Café, Aoud Purple Rose, Louban, Nepalese Oudh, I can say the Montales always deliver and what I so particularly like about APR was the 'love at first smell' I had and had almost with every Montale to my liking. Octave Coiffan, parfumista who went narcistically too far and became increasingly such amnostic sour criticaster of perfume [cf. Luca Turin, Roja Dove, Serge Lutens], famously stated "I am looking at you Montale" claiming he wasn't always honest in mentioning oud in a perfume where it was just (in his crooked opinion, accumulative delusional opinion) "synthetic". I could have sworn there was oud in Attar one of my absolute favorites. but no it isn't mentioned and there is just this incredible strong rose and double distilled mysore sandalwood. here, with APR it is the chic sillage and neverending waft of oud-rose perfume that haunts us. taifi it smells but none is mentioned. yet I suspect with Pierre Montale [his deliciously over-the-top appearance] it is precisely the opposite. sometimes, within such huge perfumial collection [along with 'Mancera'], notes are omitted rather than exaggerated. I love the hyperexpensive "Oudh Infini" of Dusita so do not veer back from ultra. but Montale, well that is ultra all along the way.
