Unlike Couleur Primaire, this fragrance is clean yet soft, powdery, and sweet, like lemonade or pear candies. It is no longer about washing powder or a freshly laundered shirt, but rather fragrant soap and clean skin. The first impression is sparkling, green, and airy, with something that resembles the scent of a green pear. This effect comes from the combination of neroli and ambrette in the opening. As it develops, the fragrance becomes moderately powdery. The iris and violet are delicate: not vintage, damp, or earthy, but soft and light, like baby powder. Towards the drydown, the sweetness becomes more pronounced, taking on a subtle caramel nuance thanks to the benzoin. Overall, it has a slightly innocent character: clean, comforting, and gently sweet. It brings back vague childhood memories, something deeply familiar that I can't quite place. Whenever I wear it, I feel as though I've just had a bath. The longevity is impressive for such an airy fragrance, lasting up to five hours. An interesting detail: while Musk Superfluide reminds me of my own childhood, Couleur Primaire was inspired by a childhood memory of Arnaud Poulain - his mother hanging freshly washed sheets out to dry on warm summer days.
