"Teriaq Intense" is my first ever "alcoholic" perfume. I was pondering on making a blind purchase for weeks, before finally clicking on a "Buy". First notes got me worried that I bought a very much male perfume. Bergamot was rather punchy and saffron almost scratchy in its intensity. But then plum liquor started seeping through. Soothing and seducing, without overwhelming, but enriching and balancing out the opening notes with sweet juiciness. I actually do not like cinnamon, but here it is so soft - it's almost plush, and adds velvet-like texture to the heart note. The base is classic, and serves as a perfect backdrop to the fragrant spiced plum heart of the perfume, enabling its uniqueness to shine through and complementing it perfectly. Benzoin adds just a dash of lactonic smoothness to further intrigue and capture one's attention. Quentin Bisch is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant perfumers of modernity, his ability to combine almost contradicting notes, and control their intensity and polyphony, is exceptional. "Teriaq Intense" is a most unexpected and brilliant composition, addictive and spellbinding after the first taste.
