A fragrance reminiscent of a sweet chocolate bonbon with a mandarine-filled center. Pleasant and easy to wear, with moderate projection. Although it lingers on fabric for a long time, a reapplication is recommended to fully enjoy its charm.
Angham opens with a most beautiful and sparkling note of mandarin and ginger, with pink pepper adding it warmth while being subtle. Lavender comes next, bringing in freshness and a very light soapiness, not aging the scent or making itself overbearing (you can trust me on this, as I most likely was a clothes moth in my previous incarnation, as generally, I cannot stand lavender in any of its forms). Lavender mixing with mandarin and ginger produces a delightful floral note, which I cannot box in any of the "classic" definition, and all I can say that it is incredibly smooth and beautifully executed and a pleasure to absorb. I do not feel jasmine very much in the heart, but rather subtle praline and powdery cacao laying the ground for vanilla to make its entrance. Lavender and mandarin are slowly stepping back, not disappearing, but becoming more of a background/supportive accords. Vanilla comes in as a most lady-like and elegant self. It is neither sugary, nor syrupy or cloying. It is sweet and airy like a white summer cloud floating in the azure skies; soft and dreamy and impeccable in its role within the Song of Angham. Thanks to this the perfume does not become gourmand or "expected" Arabian, but a very classy and distinct self. Angham's projection is perfect for versatility and allows it to be worn in many places and for many occasions. It would be as appropriate in the business meeting as in the cafe or a stroll in the park. Sillage is moderate but distinguished, and brings a great number of people with the question of: "What are you wearing?" Even when it becomes a skin scent, it maintains its enchantment and allure, becoming more intimate and seductive with the advent of powdery musk. Angham is undoubtedly one of Lattafa's "claim to fame" classic and deserves all the praise it can get, not least for producing such a masterpiece which can be enjoyed by so many.
