Lady Vengeance

A muskier version of Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle. Very sexy because of the ISO-E Super and ambroxan that give the skin-like vibes. The rose is a bed you lie on, the patchouli is reasonable and warms up the air. But it is the musk and the ambroxan that make this scent almost narcotic to my nose. Since master Francis Kurkdjian was the creator of this perfume, the profile is dark and sultry, just like Narciso Rodriguez For Her or Baccarat Rouge.

This fragrance blends the gentle citrus notes of bergamot with the refreshing coolness of lavender, creating an aromatic lightness with a subtle sharpness. The most striking feature of this perfume is the meticulous blending technique of master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. He highlights the movement of rose by contrasting the elegant, thorny Bulgarian rose with the bluish hues of geranium. This vibrant energy is further enhanced by modern amber woody notes such as Iso E Super and Ambroxan, giving it a refined tranquility and an intellectual impression. At first glance, it seems like a gentle, light floral note, but subtle nuances of patchouli and wood emerge, providing a pleasant surprise. "I thought it would be a gentle scent..." The delicate touch of rose is comforting, and beneath that comfort lies a modern, refined tranquility, urban sophistication, and vitality.

This reminds me heavily of how Hermès' Barénia & Mauboussin's Promise Me Intense all smell extremely similar to each other. 😣🤢 I think I've pinpointed the culprits to be a strong rose/lavender accord with a synthetic leaning vanilla sweetness. This combination follows the same sensory pathways for me as cheap cognac and strong pipe tobacco from a freshly opened pouch. Although these are decent smelling ingredients in their own right, together they're just gross to me. 3/10 Quality ingredients can't save it.
