Review of The Dark Side by Scented_Seraphina

Bold, complex and rather unconventional fragrance that certainly lives up to its name! It opens with an intense medicinal sweetness and a slightly camphorous, herbal character, reminding me of an old fashioned apothecary filled with mysterious concoctions. As it develops, rich, honeyed resins and amber become more prominent, although that distinctive medicinal sweetness never completely disappears. Unfortunately, I couldn't detect the iris or violet at all. The dry down is by far my favourite stage, becoming smoother with a green, slightly vanillic woody character. Performance is outstanding, with pronounced projection and around 10 hours of longevity, even from just a wrist test. Definitely better suited to autumn and winter. While I appreciate the craftsmanship and complexity, the medicinal, herbal sweetness is simply too challenging for my personal taste. If you enjoy powerful, resinous fragrances with an unusual personality, The Dark Side is certainly worth exploring. As for me, I can appreciate the artistry without wanting to wear it!
