Diva by Emanuel Ungaro is a commanding floral chypre created by Jacques Polge and launched in 1983 as the house’s first women’s fragrance. It opens with sparkling aldehydes, bergamot, mandarin, cardamom and tuberose, then develops into an opulent heart of rose, narcissus, jasmine, carnation, iris and ylang-ylang. Its signature lies in the richly textured dry-down: honeyed, powdery and mossy, with oakmoss, patchouli, sandalwood, amber, vetiver, vanilla and animalic nuances. The result is a distinctly vintage, dressed-up composition—sensual, dramatic and elegant rather than understated.
