“Jasmin des Anges” is a fragrance that speaks in different voices as the year turns, and so my account of it must also divide with the seasons. Fall – Winter In the cool months it opens with a bright accord of citrus and herbal tea, unusual, clear, quietly enlivening. Then come apricot and peach: not overripe, not spilling their sweetness, but still a little unripe, taut and firm, with a light tart edge. Blended together, they rise on the skin like playful, effervescent bubbles in a glass of Marie de Moy Demi-Sec Rosé Champagne. Jasmine and osmanthus complete the picture, their blossoms like early morning flowers whose scent is only just awakening, still touched by dew. The heart remains distinctly floral-fruity, light, unsticky, full of clarity. Jasmine continues to bloom along the skin and leads into a soft, full drydown, supported by vanilla and the subtle, clean crispness of white musk. Projection is assured yet never overbearing, and the sillage is measured and dignified. Spring – Summer In warmth, jasmine becomes the unapologetic sovereign. From the first spray it casts a gauze of bloom around the wearer, at times so abundant it seems to take one captive. Vanilla keeps the flowers from slipping into raw animality, lending a sweeter, more tempered curve. In summer the projection can turn almost dangerous: this is a fragrance better suited to evening heat, when it walks ahead and leaves a trail stretching many metres behind. Bergamot, to my nose, falls silent; apricot and peach retreat into the background, tinting the perfume in golden‑orange, like an early sunset. Now fully ripe, they have shed the tartness of their younger stage. The drydown rests on jasmine and vanilla, while white musk lingers as a faint murmur, steadying the final accords. At any time of year, “Jasmin des Anges” remains a finely made fragrance with solid persistence and a well‑balanced construction. Versatile by nature, it can accompany most occasions, provided one takes care with the number of sprays on the hottest days.
