Boucheron always had an immediate association with Poison for me. it is not logical. of course there are reminscences to each other. but only a few of the 1980s perfumes were so vile as to name them in one sentence. and then still they were different. Giorgio, Poison, Coco, Obsession. yet somehow there was something (probably several factors interchangeably) that reminded me of Poison. but it was more on an instinctual level. when I look at the (plethora of) Notes I see likewise Fruits, Flowers, Wood & Resins which could very well give off a comparable imprint. I had an Edp in a Luxurious Vaporisateur, I even had the perfume in the 'Haute Joaillerie Baguette' flacon (which was quite expensive). I would say that the next ingredients could be considered as 'in the same League'. in Poison Plum, Wild Berries, African Orange Flower, Jasmine, Tuberose, Indian Vanilla, Sandelwood, Amber, Virginia Cedar, Musk and that is all Folks ! where I also have the Notes slightly 'adapted', for instance in Poison Plum while here in Boucheron Apricot. because these are two fruits I can actually smell. two 'stonefruits'. the Poison Wild Berries I compared with the Boucheron Cassia. there are spectacularly No Citruses in Poison where there are tons in Boucheron. (which I only solely pick up on as a 'Fresh, perhaps Acidulous Swish'.) Opoponax in Poison is maybe compatible with Boucheron's Benzoin. I guess I can not come up with a logical explanation but here we have two very present, Flowery, Resinous, Opulent, Ambery and Woody typical '1980s perfumes' that may not share that much notes but in my feeling give a same Aplombness while at the same time being supersophisticated. of course Poison is the more notorious under them, and rightfully so. Boucheron is a real 'Jewelers Perfume' which I always found as Cinematic as Radiant as Brilliant in one take. what would we want more ....
