Review of Rose Anonyme Cologne Absolue by aad de gids

this is such phenomenal perfume. already in 2012 I bought a flacon, surprised that there could be something like a Cologne Absolute, which, as it later proved to be, rather acted, performed like an Edp. why I had it in 2012 became the default Mode de rigueur. entering a Niche Perfumery in Rotterdam, knowing several of the 'hostesses', they always showed me the newest of the new and than often, I HAD TO HAVE IT. very primitively and primordially. very instinctively, as how I am fundamentally. while (next to being a nurse) I studied philosophy, I do not as much THINK but I FEEL. a fact I shared proudly with my (most younger, but with enough age- correlating) fellow students. much to their flabbergastedly shock, awe or something in between. but I didn't lied. the perfume delivered a delightful Rose-Oud with a Spike which right on reminded me of the Montale Rose-Ouds which I all loved. (and bought, even if they were overlapping.) seeing the notes again, I wonder what delivers the Spike, as I thought it to be a Saffron. either the Patchouli, Ginger or Bergamot then must have added additional twang to the already thoroughly present perfume. I find this to be one of the better 'Rose-Ouds' out there, but then I have the same opinion about the Montales. perhaps the moniker 'Cologne' stands for the elucidating, Crystal Clear Edition of a perfume with such brooding and frothing ingredients.
