The opening is intense and rich saffron and jasmine take center stage, but there’s a certain freshness from bergamot and a subtle herbal kick from artemisia that keeps it from becoming too heavy. What impressed me most is how the fragrance develops. After about half an hour, a warm trail of amberwood and white flowers settles on the skin, giving it that signature 'velvet' texture the collection is named after. The base reveals a truly refined oud mixed with incense and sandalwood. The incense here isn't 'church-like,' but rather smoky and sensual, creating a warm, woody aura that stays with you all day. In terms of performance, this is a total beast. Two or three sprays are more than enough for 12+ hours, and the projection is just right people will notice and ask what you’re wearing without ever overpowering the room.
