The passion fruit opens with a juicy, refreshingly tart character, briefly evoking the vinous nuance of sparkling wine. It is, however, a fleeting impression, soon giving way to the composed sweetness of ripe peach. The composition remains delightfully fruity for most of its wear before settling into a calm base that lingers intimately close to the skin. There is a sense of summer abundance to the fragrance, yet it never feels excessive. Everything is beautifully balanced, avoiding the territory of an overly literal, linear fruity gourmand. Both longevity and sillage proved to be moderate, which came as a surprise to me given the widespread reputation of this extrait for its impressive performance.
