An elegant, understated, and feminine fragrance. All the notes are soft and blend together to create a harmonious fruity-floral composition. I’m not usually a fan of black pepper, but here, it doesn’t smell sharp or pungent. Instead, it adds a subtle spiciness with a citrusy twist, while lemon and mandarin bring a touch of freshness and sparkle. As the fragrance develops, I get blackcurrant with a slight wine-like tartness, alongside rose - somewhat powdery and rich, with dense petals and a gentle sweetness. The fragrance settles into a woody base that is neither astringent nor dry, and certainly not pencil-like. It evokes soft, pale wood instead. Longevity is moderate, lasting around 5–6 hours. Projection is soft, while the sillage is moderate - noticeable to others without being overpowering. If I were asked which aria this fragrance reminds me of, I would say “O mio babbino caro” from Gianni Schicchi. In Maria Callas’s interpretation, the aria sounds not only romantic. Her voice conveys tenderness and determination, vulnerability and strength. I sense that same balance in this fragrance: its soft, feminine character never feels weak. Much like the great diva herself.
