Such a deliciously sweet and decadent nutty cake scent. Along with the cake I also really get the nutty, cherry-like almond, nutty pistachio, velvety rose water, decadent golden honey, and creamy caramel. I also get hints of warm spicy cardamom, sandalwood, cherry blossom, orange blossom, and just a whisper of plum. I do notice the plum nectar a little more in the opening, it adds a touch of sweetness and a subtle tartness. Overall, It has such a pretty, romantic, charming, and flirty feel to it that I really enjoy. Honestly, I feel that this is rather unique. The combination of cake, nuts, rose, and honey is just so beautiful and intriguing. I don’t have anything quite like it in my collection, so it’s a very welcome addition. Even though it’s a gourmand cake fragrance it somehow manages to not come across as heavy, dense, or cloying. I’m not usually a big fan of rose, but this is really lovely. I also got Brown Girl Jane Halo Barbie which also has rose petals in it, and I really love that one too! Another rose fragrance I’ve really been enjoying is SDJ 91. In True Love’s Cake it’s more of a sweet gourmand rose that brings a romantic vibe. I really like Skylar fragrances, and own several of them including Boardwalk Delight, Caramel Alps, Vanilla Sky, Fall Cashmere, and Coconut Cove which I really enjoy. I also have Lime Sands, Sweet Morningside, and Pink Canyon, which I think are just ok. As soon as I heard about True Love’s Cake though, I absolutely had to have it because I knew it would be super good. I’m definitely glad I blind bought it because it was a love at first sniff for me. To me this feels feminine, and suitable for women of all ages. I think it will work pretty well throughout the whole year. I think it’s suitable for pretty much any occasion from casual to fancy, including work/school. It seems to be a rather versatile fragrance. I get great performance with True Love’s Cake. The longevity is on the strong side, it lasts 7-8 hours on me. The projection is moderate, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me.
