Review of Melinoë The Dark Extrait de Parfum by Sarah Chabal

On me this is an incredibly delicious almond and pistachio cake scent with sugared violet, spicy notes, a splash of warm boozy rum, and a delicate whisper of sweet yet tart apple with some soft musk, warm golden amber, and cedar in the base. I actually really love this! There’s a perfect balance between the sweetness and the spicy notes. It’s most definitely a gourmand, but it doesn’t come across cloying or dense, rather it’s more of an airy cake scent which is wonderful. It really is absolutely gorgeous, and a great choice for any gourmand lover! Overall, it’s a very feminine, sensual, charming, whimsical, delicious, cozy, and comforting scent I can’t say that this overly reminds me of anything, as it’s quite a unique scent. However, I think there’s a slight similarity to GdT Celeste (more violet and fairy dust like) and Skylar True Love’s Cake (another almond and pistachio cake scent, but with the addition of rose petals and no violet, spices, rum, or apple) To me this feels feminine, and suitable for women of any age. It feels most suitable for fall, winter, and spring, although I can see it working year round. This feels fitting for any occasion from casual to fancy including work/school. This is the very first time I have tried this brand. I received small decants of Melinoë The Dark and Lost Mallow with a swap for Fugazzi Vanilla Haze, and so far I’m extremely impressed! I’m so thrilled to be able to try this new Indie brand that’s brand new to me, especially because it seems to be right up my alley! I’m honestly a little surprised by how much I’m loving these so far! I get excellent performance with Melinoë The Dark. The longevity is amazing, it lasts throughout the entire day on me. The projection is fantastic, just 1 spray radiates out at least a few feet from me.
