Nuit De Cellophane

Very impressive opening. It felt ozonic in a way (at least for me). It develops towards a more floral and juicy side, with a delicate and personal jasmine. Even though the projection is not beast mode, the scent is unique and very appealing. It smells sexy and fresh at the same time. Definitely unisex. It smells like a sexy angel. A little expensive for me. But it is beautifully formulated so maybe I will get myself a bottle.

The fragrance opens with a dazzling impression of mandarin and osmanthus accords, sparkling like stars. Supporting this is a floral scent centered around jasmine. This osmanthus and jasmine accord has a somewhat metallic feel—this is cellophane. Upon closer examination, the fragrance reveals a classic floral-fruity composition of peach, apricot, and jasmine. Serge Lutens' use of jasmine is a hallmark of the brand. The complex and rich, deep floral notes of jasmine are truly the brand's forte. Adding osmanthus creates a sense of jasmine representing the night and osmanthus representing the stars. The overall relaxed flow beautifully evokes a nocturnal atmosphere—truly a cellophane night! What's noteworthy is how Lutens deliberately transforms the nostalgic warmth of osmanthus into the inorganic beauty of cellophane's sheen. It's like a cellophane veil wrapping a bouquet of jasmine flowers, making something beautiful shine even brighter and protecting it with care!
