Soft fruity-woody fragrance with a subtle floral touch. The name “Sølaberg” is created by combining the words “Sol” (“sun”) and “Berg” (“mountains” in several Scandinavian languages). However, personally, this fragrance does not evoke Scandinavian aesthetics for me at all. I still wonder why quince was chosen as its inspiration. Why not apples, forest berries, or even chanterelles – the “gold of the forest” that one could imagine growing among the sunlit Scandinavian mountains?🤔 After the first spray, a soft floral sweetness appears. Gradually, it becomes richer and brighter, resembling the scent of candied fruits. There is even a sensation of a crystalline sugar texture – the kind of sugar that does not melt. Later, a subtle smokiness emerges, while woody notes can barely be detected in the background. At this stage, the fragrance starts to resemble fruits roasted over a campfire, with a lightly charred crust. In the drydown, the woody notes and smokiness almost disappear, leaving only a sugary-fruity accord on the skin. P.S. After taking a shower, the fragrance still remains on my skin, but its fruity sweetness disappears. What is left is a dry, slightly cedar-like scent reminiscent of wooden pencils.
