Review of Arlésienne by Olga Steinfeld

The most feminine fragrance in my collection. Warm, powdery, floral, cosmetic, velvety. It reminds me of the scent of a hand cream that was popular in the ’90s and early ’00s, which my mother used to use. And there’s definitely something vintage about it. Arlésienne smells quite linear. Despite the galbanum note at the start, there’s not a hint of greenness or bitterness in the fragrance. From start to finish, it’s a powdery, floral scent. The rose is slightly tart and cosmetic - neither Bulgarian nor sweet. The ambrette comes across as warm and velvety. Although there’s no saffron in the official note pyramid, I definitely sense something that reminds me of it. Arlésienne is even somewhat similar to another fragrance from L’Occitane, Rose Safran, only softer and more romantic. It lasts up to 6 hours on the skin, while the scent lingers on clothing for several days. The sillage is moderate - I can smell it at arm’s length. I really enjoy wearing it in cold weather. This fragrance has such an incredibly feminine energy that whenever I wear it, I feel more beautiful, elegant, and polished.🥰
