Midnight Rose differs noticeably from La Nuit Trésor. Devoid of its sweet gourmand allure, it is a more floral composition. Green, slightly tart cassis and fresh raspberry, rather than jammy fruitiness, lend the fragrance freshness, juiciness, and a subtly spirited character. Although none of the listed notes directly suggests it, this fragrance brings to my mind cigarette ash. A delicate smoky nuance gives it a distinctly evening character. Thus, although clearly recognizable as a member of the La Nuit Trésor family, the composition retains its own distinct identity. Less sweet, somewhat drier, and less seductive in a girlish, romantic way, it is more provocative, like a nocturnal diva. The fragrance does not evolve dramatically. Over time, the woody notes become slightly more pronounced, while the rose takes on a more supporting role. The fruitiness gradually and gently subsides. The flacon is beautiful, longevity is very good, and the sillage is noticeable without becoming overpowering.
