When I heard the name "Idôle," I imagined a sweet, cute, fruity-floral scent reminiscent of Japanese pop idols. However, this fragrance pleasantly defies those expectations. Derived from the French word for an object of admiration or an icon, the scent embodies not merely the act of admiring others, but a strong determination to become an object of admiration—an "Idôle"—oneself. The top notes open with the gentle, spreading aroma of juicy, refreshing bergamot and pear. At this stage, one can sense the youthful, cute vibe often associated with the image of an "idol." Yet, the richness of the pear is delicately restrained to create a refined texture, shifting the impression from mere cuteness to the elegance of a sophisticated woman. Delicate rose and deep jasmine intertwine, eventually becoming enveloped in a gentle, rich vanilla scent. A subtle hint of musk lurking beneath the sweetness evokes the sensuality of an independent woman, perfectly expressing a "supple strength." Here, an unmistakably French sensibility shines through. Had it been created in Japan, the concept of "Idôle" might have been interpreted literally, and such a sophisticated olfactory composition might not have been achieved. This fragrance perfectly embodies the theme of being crafted for modern women who excel in society while cherishing their femininity. It is a "new-era chypre floral" that fuses cuteness with an independent spirit in exquisite balance—a scent truly worthy of the modern "Idôle" who carves out her own future. Personally, I was captivated by the bottle's graceful, slender form, which prompted my decision to purchase it. It made me realize once again why Lancôme creates such legendary fragrances.
