My Misjudgment of Initio Parfums Privés My initial assessment of Initio Parfums Privés Paragon was premature. While I initially thought it lacked character, it is actually a complex, mystical, and exceptionally pleasant fragrance that truly shows its strength as the temperature drops. Where I Got It Wrong When I first tried Paragon, I thought it felt too "mainstream" or lacked the depth a niche perfume at this price point should have. I felt the plum note was too dominant and sweet. I was wrong because I judged it by the first impression in an indoor setting, without giving it a chance to develop and "breathe" in the crisp, cold air. The True Experience After wearing it for a few days, I realized the true nature of this scent. It opens with fresh notes of lavender, white sage, and bergamot, but its true magic lies in the heart. The combination of plum, sacred Palo Santo, and black pepper creates a mystical, therapeutic quality that I failed to recognize at first. Perfect for Colder Days: While I initially thought it could be worn anytime, I am now convinced that Paragon is made for colder weather. Its warmth, woody notes, and balsamic character are best showcased in autumn and winter. In the cold air, it becomes like a soft, expensive scarf that warms you and provides a sense of security and calm. Longevity and Projection: As an Extrait de Parfum, the performance is top-tier. It lasts over 6-8 hours, and in colder conditions, its aura remains steady without ever becoming stifling. The Dry Down: The base of creamy sandalwood and oud provides a sensual and comforting finish that lingers for hours after application. Conclusion: I was too quick to judge a perfume that is, in fact, a masterpiece for low temperatures. It’s not just a fruity scent, but a deep, spiritual experience that perfectly accompanies you through the colder months. Grade 8/10 I think it's expensive and overrated
