First thirty seconds, I almost washed it off. Bergamot comes in sharp, geranium right behind it reading almost medicinal - synthetic, if I'm being honest. Not the mood-fragrance opening you're primed to expect. Nothing here is trying to make you feel good. Give it a few minutes and it turns into wet forest. Properly wet - cypriol, dry nutmeg, cedarwood knotted into something that smells like soil after rain and old wood that's absorbed decades of weather. No sweetness anywhere. It sits heavy, and that weight is the whole point. It's not lifting off. It's rooting down. I stopped trying to force it into being comfortable. That's when it actually starts working. Oud rises through the moss, low and gravitational rather than loud. Ambergris turns it into something closer to clean skin than perfume. Vetiver holds the whole thing to the ground. Seven to ten hours, and it never really ends - just settles. It's not bottling happiness. It's reminding you that happiness was never the ground you were standing on to begin with. Cool, damp weather only - this falls apart in heat. And that opening will lose people who wash off too early, which is a shame, because it's not built for instant anything. Ever notice how the fragrances that ask the most patience end up being the ones you trust most? #FragranceCommunity #NichePerfume #ScentMemory #LavenderCloudsJD Instagram · @lavendercloudsjd
