Review of Rose Barbare by RINA

The fragrance opens with the scent of rose, but the fruity notes of aldehyde and peach add a classic touch. A nostalgic, classic scent is accented with honey, creating a mellow and deep aroma. Rather than brute force, it evokes a strong will, inner strength, and a vibrant impression—a feeling of "standing tall and moving forward." It then transforms into a light, passionate, and elegant rose scent. The addition of aldehydes to the vibrant rose scent further enhances its elegance. The addition of peach creates a classic and feminine impression. However, the brand's description of it as "difficult to handle, almost wild, natural" doesn't quite resonate with me. What exactly does it mean? Many people are captivated by roses, and many perfumes express its glamorous side, but I interpreted the name "Barbar" (wild) as signifying inner strength, an independent spirit that doesn't pander to anyone, and that this spirit is "uncontrollable"—in other words, "wild." Guerlain's "wildness" is an image of a heroine who loves freedom, lives passionately, and is unbound by anything; it refers to a spirituality rather than general wildness. It may not necessarily be crude, but rather embodies a beauty that can never be tamed. Honestly, it was difficult to connect this perfume with its theme. I was bewildered by the impactful name "Wild." However, as I savored the fragrance and tried to understand what it was trying to convey, I realized it represented a "free spirit," the spirit of a heroine who loves freedom and is unbound by anyone, and it all made sense. Why is it such a classic and beautiful fragrance? Isn't it the complete opposite of a wild scent? This fragrance made me think about many things.
