Cruel Gardénia

The fragrance unfolds elegantly with a classical floral scent, combining rose, ylang-ylang, and a powdery violet. The violet adds a dignified grace to the floral notes. Gardenia is a fragrance that cannot be harvested naturally, and while many perfumes featuring gardenia have a subtle, crisp green scent, this fragrance adds a non-green, dignified elegance with violet. Personally, I find the use of ylang-ylang as an accent and the transformation of the green notes into violet particularly appealing. Since then, most gardenia-themed fragrances I've tried have a green, bitter yet dignified scent. This fragrance, however, overturns that greenness, recreating the gardenia's charm with violet. It truly is a unique creation, reflecting Guerlain's distinctive perspective.
