(never saw the reviews were overlapping abouth both 'Bellodgia' 1927 (here) and 'La Sélection Più Bellodgia' 2014 (there) and reviewed at once.) this of course, is a fabulous perfume. it belongs to the all-time Classics. at the moment I have a 50mL 'pepper shaker' flacon with the protrudung little glass 'spikes'. with the gold tone bouchon-cap. but I also have the [Collection...] [la Selection] un Piú Bellodgia which I find equally great. of course these are derivatives of the Original of 1927. la Selection stems from 2013 and the petite Hand Grenade Élégante I have bought (if I remember correctly) in the 1990s. these two different perfumes overlap each other in quality and athmosphere. what does it for me always is the presence of ánd Rose ánd Carnation. (Dior's Poison from 1984 [1985], but also the original Giorgio Beverly Hills Glamour Cologne 1981). this gives such hefty Flower Power and it was already in my youth (born 1957, the Gay Half of Twin Boys) I loved Roses and Carnations. and those were BIG Carnations in saturated colours. then of course Caron has, like Chanel, Guerlain, Coty and Grossmith and Creed, it has its own Signature mysticism concerning parfumerie. in my experience Caron has a masterly stroke on powderiness, while also seems directional on how to handle flowers and their caprices. with the Carnation you have the unique Clove Accent which I find irresistable. that is why I liked the worst and most vile hooker perfumes of the 1980s. yet Bellodgia has its name mentioned within one breath, with Narcisse Noir (Gloria Swanson, Sunset Boulevard), [Une] Rose, les Pois de Senteur which also has this idiosyncratic combination of ingredients to provide a louche-luscious and hypnotizing ensemble des Fleurs Fatales. this all, is incarnated ( ! ) within Bellodgia. its name spills over like honey with wodka and cocaine. it alters the state of the mind. these are psychoactive perfumes and the 'Rivals' made them simultaneously (Chanel No5, No22, Bois des Iles, Cuir de Russie; Guerlain's Jicky, Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleue and Shalimar; Coty's Chypre, Éméraude, La Rose Jacqueminot and Grossmith's Trio Hasu-no-Hana, Shem - el- Nessim and Phul-Nana plus with Creed's Fleur de Bulgarie, Irisia, Jasmin d'Empératrice Eugénie and Jasmal, Tubereuse Indiana and Vanisia et cetera). this was to emphasize the particularity of each venerated house but then with also a kind of resemblance. (also Marions-Nous from Oriza L.Legrand with Jasmine, Hyacinth, Rose AND Carnation & Civet.) these super satiated Flowery, Aldehydic, Hesperidic, Chypric and Swelteringly Intoxicating, Sultry and with wilthed indole and damascenones projective parfums des Fleurs Maudit have become rare and inbetween. I cherish my Eau de toilette in its elegant Ladies' Grenade Flacon and the 2013 Emission of La Sélection Un Piú Bellodgia. they both let the true lady appear in all her ravishing toiles and her Époustoufflantes Toilettes de Nuit.
