This is definitely not a blind-buy perfume, at least not for me. I bought Bvlgari Man In Black after a friend from my office strongly recommended it. I thought it would be a great gift for my husband, so I purchased it without testing. Unfortunately, it ended up being quite disappointing for both of us. The fragrance feels extremely spicy and heavy right from the start. The oud and tobacco notes are very strong, and to my nose they come across almost like burnt oud with thick tobacco smoke. That dense, smoky sweetness creates a scent that I personally find quite unpleasant. Instead of feeling luxurious or smooth, the smell feels too intense and slightly headache-inducing. I’m honestly surprised how popular this perfume is among men, because for me it gives a very heavy, suffocating vibe. Longevity is strong, but unfortunately that also means the scent lingers for a long time, which isn’t ideal when you don’t enjoy it. Overall, this fragrance simply didn’t work for us. If you enjoy very spicy, smoky, tobacco-heavy scents, you might like it. But based on my experience, I would strongly recommend trying it on skin first before buying.
