this perfume bears all characteristics, while from 1991, of a typical 1980s women's perfume. I love it. you have the Flower Bomb spirit, then Fruits that you can really smell. in most cases I never can smell Fruit in perfumes. what I can smell however are Peaches, Plums, Apricots and (not always to my liking) Melon. then it is a perfume with classical basenotes. I would say it bears resemblances with Charlie (1970s), Giorgio, Beautiful, Amarige (also 1991), Ruffles Oscar de la Renta (1983), in a sense also to Eternity and Chanel No5. I do not say this perfume is the same as these perfumes but it nevertheless fits seamlessly in the portrayals these perfumes also present. I do not detect any reformulation or degradation. I must have an older batch. where I can definitely smell all the Introductory Fruits (Peach, Pineapple, Raspberry) which alone is already unique for my nasal capabilities. then the lovely Wall of Flowers (I always smell Roses when present, so apparently against the mainstream) with Tuberose, Ylang, Narcissus, the extra sweetness of Honeysuckle and Jasmine. plus then still the Orangeblossom. you can smell these flowers separately but they're rather interspersed within each other in a Mass of Vegetality and Florality which makes this the typical Code 4 Alarmistic Presentist 1980s Hookerperfume. the Fruits and Flowers surely also present a wiltedness, decay, which I always crave for. this is what made the 1980s perfumes so exceptional. the Fruits are ripe, overripe, even towards somewhat rotten ... the Roses and Tuberose, Jasmine and Narcissus et cetera throw in their damascenones, indoles, sway their aromachemical signatures around to such degree that is almost asphyxiative. but that is exactly how I like it. I think it is this characteristic that is responsible for clarifications of reviewers whom say this is the Ultimate Old Lady Perfume, it is reformulated, it has Turned et cetera. to my (not so good) nose this perfume is exactly what it should be. the Amber, Sandelwood and Patchouli even take 'Mackie' into Obsession and Opium territory. and Poison and Chanels Coco. but the similarity is really remarkable to the Fluent and Billowing Chypres I summed up, be it much more satiated and oversatiated (as a Traditional Chypre). it is if walking into a Steaming greenhouse for Orchids. I love this perfume and it also calls forward the fashions of Bob Mackie, who designed for Cher and loved Theatralics, Showbizz, Glitter and Drama. and Glitz, Fizz and Fur, Baubles, Champagne & Cocaine.
