Even now, I haven't encountered another chypre fragrance that is as noble and classic as this one. The base of "Mitsouko" is the distinctive peach scent created by the aldehyde C14 combined with the chypre. This fragrance gives off an impression of modesty. Though she doesn't say much, she possesses a strong inner will and doesn't easily reveal her emotions. Unfazed by anything, she exudes only grace, which leads to an elusive, mysterious charm. Furthermore, why use peach in a chypre? I believe it was to evoke the impression of feminine skin texture. While a chypre alone would create a cool, aloof image, the addition of peach subtly infuses it with feminine softness, expressing a sense of gracefulness. Even for me, a Japanese person, this is one of the fragrances I would like to wear with a kimono. Just wearing this fragrance seems to create the image of a modest woman. Not talkative, not saying much. This, conversely, creates the image of a mysterious woman whose thoughts and feelings are difficult to discern. I interpret this fragrance as expressing a certain aesthetic of being reserved and not overly talkative. It evokes the image of a woman who, while expressing her will is important, should only do so at crucial moments. She doesn't speak unnecessarily.
