Review of Coco Eau de Toilette by Pia Pedersen

Coco Chanel impersonated It makes good sense, that this fragrance is named with Chanel’s first name. It seems to me that this is more informal, way more sexy and closer to Coco’s personality than any other Chanel perfume I have smelled. I have an idea, that had I ever met Coco, this would be the impression of her, when she was herself - not business Coco or formal Coco. Just Coco. That is probably the reason why this is my favourite Chanel together with Coco Noir. I wear No. 19 a lot, I like No. 5 and I adore Allure - but Coco is magic. I wear it on very special occasions. I met Coco when I was looking after a flat for a friend of a friend. I went to water the plants and flush the toilet, and there - on the shelf in the bathroom - was Coco. Of course I had to try it out. I was in my really early twenties and it was rare that I came so close to an expensive and renowned brand as Chanel. I fell in love instantly there in the bathroom. It was there I decided to own this some time in the future. I did - eventually. The scent is complex if you look at the nummer of notes and the many ways the nose will be drawn. But when you spray it on it does not leave me with a complex feeling. The notes are so wonderfully entwined that is ends up being a perfect whole - a picture of completeness and utter comfort. I have not yet succeded in getting all the notes, but I really could not be bothered. I do not need to. If I was to mention those I notice, it would be mandarin orange, rose, cinnamon and patchouli. But this is a scent that makes my nose rest because it is just perfect. Jacques Polge, you nailed it - again. I love to look at the bottle; being greeted by it when I see it on my shelf. There is a classic, feminine expression to the black, the glass, the font, the gold. I often have it on my shelf. And I shall keep buying a new bottle whenever I run out of Coco.
