Nothing happened. Then something happened. Finally everything happened… This is a darn good perfume, though for me too expensive from new. I turn into Uncle Scrooge and decide that I cannot afford it. Someone else might decide to spend 160€ purchasing it in mint condition. I decided to buy it as my first Byredo from a fellow perfume dedicated soul, who had already used half of the bottle. But then it was less pricy and I was happy. Having read many great reviews about several of Byredo’s perfumes I was dying of curiosity and I had to smell some of them. Bal d’Afrique is ranked number 59 on the top 100 unisex so when I saw it was for sale I blind bought. And never looked back… I sprayed it and had to sniff my arm several times. But nothing happened. No notes, no smell and a huge ‘noooooooo!’ inside my head. A minute passed. Then something happened. A wonderful smell grew. I am so amazed, because it literally grew out from nothing. After 10 minutes everything is happening. I am still trying to get all the notes right but I know it will take some time. It is complex and I keep discovering new things. The only drawback is that after 4 hours it is gone. How sad!
